Sunil Kumar Mishra is a Fellow at Institute for Human Development, New Delhi. Prior to joining the Institute for Human Development (IHD), he was an ICSSR Research Fellow at G. B. Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad. His areas of interest area are livelihood, food security, child deprivation, and tribal studies. He has published several research papers in journals of national and international repute. He has published two books Challenges of Rural Industrialization in India (Academic Excellence, 2012) and The Challenge of Inclusive Development in Rural Bihar (IHD and Manak Publications Pvt. Ltd) in 2012. He is a part of the extensive longitudinal study in Bihar, being conducted by IHD for which he has also organised and coordinated the field work. He specialises in qualitative and quantitative research surveys and has managed several research, evaluation, and assessment projects across major sectors and geographies. Under the umbrella of the research programme, he has been involved in several projects in the areas of livelihood, migration, enterprises, etc. He is presently the Project Director of the National Level Monitor for evaluation of government programmes sponsored by Ministries of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
