Aditi Madan is an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Human Development. She has a Ph.D. in Disaster Management from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok with doctoral thesis on ‘Institutional Capacity Development for Flood Risk Reduction at the community level: A Case Study of Delhi, India’. Prior to her Ph.D., she completed her Masters in Disaster Management from TISS. Her areas of interest includes women‘s health, sanitation and education, disaster management, urbanisation, and environment and climate change. She has prior experience of working in the development sector with organisations such as National Institute of Disaster Management, Voluntary Health Association of India (Delhi), United Access Medical (Singapore), United Access Medical (Singapore), International Labour Organisation- UNESCAP (Bangkok), Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (Bangkok), Asian Center of Innovation for Sustainable Agriculture in India Yunus Centre (Bangkok), Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA) etc. At IHD, she has been engaged in several projects including the “Comprehensive Digitised Survey of Persons Engaged in the Act of Begging and Those Who Are At Risk” in Delhi; “Evaluation Study of Jan Suvidha Complexes in DUSIB in Delhi” and “Impact of COVID-19 on India’s Social Health and Employment Insurance Scheme under ESIC: A Case of Healthcare in the Automotive Component Industry in India”.
