Kaushik Bhattacharya is currently Professor of economics at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow. Prof. Bhattacharya did his Ph.D. from Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) and his post-doctoral research at University of Bonn. Earlier, Prof. Bhattacharya had worked in statistics and monetary policy departments of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). He had also been a visiting research fellow at the Bank for International Settlements and a recipient of DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) fellowship. Dr. Bhattacharya had worked on different types of applied econometric problems in monetary policy and central banking. One of his special areas of interest is currency in circulation.
