Thushyanthan Baskaran is Assistant Professor at the University of Göttingen. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg in 2010, specialising in public economics. His research interests include public economics, political economics, and development economics. Specifically, his recent research covers the political economy of fiscal policy, fiscal decentralisation, and the link between taxation and democracy in sub-Saharan Africa.
