Dr Nirupama Kulkarni is Professor at Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL). She works on academic and policy research in the areas of banking, household finance, real estate and monetary policy. Her most recent work focuses on digitalisation, banking in India, and implications for credit allocation. Dr Kulkarni’s work has appeared in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Monetary Economics, Management Science, and Journal of Corporate Finance, among others. She has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Bombay, an MBA from Stern School of Business, New York University, and a Ph.D. in business administration (finance and real estate) from Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
