Minhaj Mahmud is currently Head of Research of Brac Institute of Governance and Development at Brac University Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 2005 and M.A. in Economics from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1999. He has held academic and research positions at Queens University Belfast and Keele University in the UK and Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), Brac University and Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh. He was visiting professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan and Jawaharlal Nehru University in India. Dr Mahmud’s main area of research is behavioural and experimental economics and development issues. His research is published in highly ranked Economics journals such as Economics Letters, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Economica, Health Economics, as well as in Science journals such as Journal of Environmental Sciences and Technology and Plos One.
