Rajesh Ramachandran graduated in Economics from Delhi University and obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. Since June 2013 he is a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Economics, Heidelberg University. His main area of research is at the intersection of development economics and its political economy. His principal interests are language policy and economics of discrimination, with a focus on the role of language choices and discrimination in affecting human capital outcomes and socioeconomic inequality in society.
