Rahul Ranjan is Consultant at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, where he has worked since February 2022. He completed his MPhil (2015) and PhD (2020) in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. For his doctoral degree he worked on a thesis titled “Cooking Energy Consumption and Women’s Health in Rural India”.
Prior to joining RIS, he worked as a Consultant at Office of Economic Adviser, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (December 2020 to February 2022), and as a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Human Development, New Delhi (July 2019 to November 2020). His areas of research interest include trade in energy, the Indian labour market, and industry.
