Pallabi Das is assistant professor of geography at Amity University Kolkata. She has completed her PhD in population studies from IIT Kharagpur, and obtained her MPhil degree from the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata. She is an alumnus of the Geography Department at the Presidency University Kolkata. She has received Junior Research Fellowships from UGC and CSIR in Geography and Earth Sciences. Previously, she has also worked as visiting faculty in Vidyasagar College for Women and research associate in the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata.

She has several articles in peer-reviewed, Scopus-indexed journals and a book chapter in Population Dynamics in Eastern India and Bangladesh: Demographic, Health, and Development Issues, published by Springer Nature. Her areas of research interest are population studies, social geography, public health, cultural demography with a focus on mortality, morbidity, health, nuptiality, fertility behaviour, family planning programmes with policy implications, spatial econometrics, and sustainable development goals.
