Mousumi Dutta is Professor, and Head of the Economics Department at Presidency University, Kolkata. She is an econometrician with research interests in gender, and health, and she has also worked on built heritage. She has undertaken research projects funded by the Rosa Luxemborg Society, The International Growth Centre, Indian Council of Social Science Research, and the University Grants Commission. Mousumi was also associated with the preparation of the Human Development Report for the state of West Bengal. Her work has been published in international journals such as Tourism Management, Social Indicators Research, Asian Population Studies, etc.
