Md Amzad Hossain is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia. Prior to this, he served as a lecturer at the University of Dhaka, from where he also obtained MA and BA degrees in economics.
His research interests are at the intersection of development and labour economics. Past research has focused on higher education, human capital, the labor market, and violence in developing countries, focusing on gender disparity.
