Debendra Chandra Baruah is a Professor in the Department of Energy and Director of Centre for Multidisciplinary Research at Tezpur University. He has contributed significantly to the fields of energy conservation, rural energy planning and management, biomass residue utilisation, waste management, and clean energy generation. He has successfully handled fourteen national and international collaborative projects, authored more than 100 articles, and guided 20 PhD scholars.
His current research interest includes energy management and planning for decarbonising the agriculture sector, smart and appropriate renewable energy technologies, energy and nutrients recovery from biomass and bio-waste. He has visited many countries in connection with academic and research collaboration, and has served as Head of the Department, Dean of Students Welfare, Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Coordinator of IPR Cell, and Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan at Tezpur University.
