Prasenjit Sarkhel is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Kalyani. His areas of specialisation are Development Economics, Applied Econometrics, Microeconomic Theory and Natural Resource and Environmental Economics. His research interests include public economics, public policy, health-seeking behaviour, environmental regulations, and non-market valuation. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta and did his post-doctoral research at the Virginia Polytechnic and State University. He has received research grants from the University Grants Commission (UGC) India,South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE), and Ministries of State Governments in India. He is a recipient of the Raman Fellowship from University Grants Commission, India.
