Deepak Kumar heads the Research and Statistics Unit at the ASER Centre, New Delhi.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics with a specialisation in education from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He is an applied micro-economist, focusing on policy questions related to education and health. Dr Kumar was previously associated with the REAL Centre, Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge.
