Prachi Mishra is the Managing Director and Chief India Economist at Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mishra was the deputy division chief of the Western Hemisphere Department at the International Monetary Fund. Earlier, she also headed the Strategic Research Unit at the Reserve Bank of India and prior to that she worked as a senior economist at both the IMF and the Ministry of Finance.
She received a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University from 2004, and a Masters from the Delhi School of Economics in 1999. Prior to working in the Research Department at the IMF, she worked in the Western Hemisphere and Fiscal Affairs Departments.
