Markus Eberhardt is Associate Professor in the School of Economics, University of Nottingham. His research focusses on empirical investigations of growth and development at the macro level and more recently on financial crises and on market integration in early modern economies. Before joining Nottingham in 2011, Markus held an ESRC Post-doctoral Research Fellowship at the Centre for the Study of African Economies in the Department of Economics at Oxford University, where he also completed his D.Phil.. His first degree was in Modern Chinese Studies at the University of Leeds, 2000. His has been a CEPR Research Affiliate since 2015.
