Ashish Bharadwaj is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School and an Editor of the Law and Policy Brief. He serves as Assistant Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property and Technology Law as well as the Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is a recipient of the Max Planck Society doctoral fellowship (2009–2013) and is an Erasmus Mundus scholar (2008–2009). Dr Bharadwaj is an affiliated faculty at the Centre for Intellectual Property Research, Maurer School of Law, Indiana University, Bloomington. His main areas of interest include industrial innovation and intellectual property, innovation and IPR policy, social innovation and topics in law and economics. His recent work includes an analysis of national IPR policies of Sub-Saharan African countries, which he was invited to present at the Ninth WIPO Advanced IP Research Forum in Geneva in the summer of 2015. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich. He also holds an L.L.M. degree in law and economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Hamburg and University of Manchester, and M.Sc. in Economics from Madras School of Economics.
