Caterina Alacevich is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at the Catholic University of Milan and Bicocca University, DEFAP Graduate School in Public Economics.

She is currently visiting Universitat Pompeu Fabra (since September 2014) within the ESR-ITN Marie Curie Fellowship Programme to work on the PODER project - Policy Design and Evaluation Research in Developing Countries.

Despite impressive rates of economic growth in recent decades, India remains one of the worst-performing countries worldwide in terms of height, among children and adults. This column shows that height gaps exist, although decline substantially, among adult immigrants of Indian ethnicity in England, while virtually disappearing among their young children.
