R. Nagaraj is Professor at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (1989; JNU, New Delhi, Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum).
His areas of research include: aspects of India’s industrialisation, applied macroeconomic issues, public sector performance, industrial labour market in India, and official economic statistics.
He has been involved in many official statistical committees, most recently with the revision of National Accounts Statistics.
