Completely agree with what you have said. Also, the basic dislike for any kind of profit-making (even legitimate) makes them come up with policies which does not attract the right type of investors. For example, the insistence of keeping education non-profit. Only the ones who know they can game the system are tempted to invest in the sector. The vexed issue of development is another area that needs more nuanced thought from the Left. In order to raise incomes, jobs are required which can only be generated in bulk by the private sector. Handicapping the private sector with myriad rules that does nothing protect labour right have led to mechanisation of sector which could have employed a large portion of our population.
